We return from the boondocks!…

My dad moved to Georgia about 10 years ago, I think I’ve been there about 3 times, this past Easter vacation we decided to drive down with the girls. The drive down wasn’t too bad, but coming back.. boy oh boy if Rylan wasn’t sleeping she was screaming! It was insanity. But overall we had a wonderful visit with Papou, the girls stuck to him like glue the entire time. I do have to say that the weather really spoiled us, beautiful 80 degree weather was a nice change. When we drove home, we stopped in Virginia where we awoke the next morning to snow! Grrrr… that was so annoying.

A few grdeat things have been happening, for one we sent our bebeink tees to LA where they are now on display in a showroom 🙂 We recieved out first order which will ship to Las Vegas this weekend and we have been given word that there are 3 pending orders, LARGE orders which one of is a very well known department store 🙂 Once we get the word I’ll let you know who it is 😉 Wish us luck!

Busy little bees

leave a comment »

It has been quite busy around here.  Nathaniel has been visited almost everyday by me and my sister and mom.  I’ve had work all weekend and most of the nights and I have been “cleaning house” and reorganizing things around here.  I do that quite often to see how much space I can gain by rearranging and throwing things out.

I have worked with the autistic children twice already doing art with them and I am really enjoying it.  I am trying to figure out a way to promote myself as an art instructor for kids and maybe do some afterschool programs once or twice a week.  I seem to always be trying to find something that will work for me so that I don’t have to work for someone else.  Things are getting quite tight around here with mortgages and bills and credit cards that I know I will have to go back to work real soon, I would love to be able to work and be home by atleast 4pm so that my day doesn’t have to end with hardly seeing my girls.  I used to work a regualr full time job when Paige was little and it was horrible.  I never came home earlier than 6.30pm and by the time dinner was ready it was 8pm and Paige was zonked.  If Kyle were home earlier and could be here for them I wouldn’t mind coming home late but both of us would have to work this New York style of life and in the end the girls would suffer greatly.

Update on Nate

leave a comment »

Our poor little Nate, I went to visit him yesterday and to my surprise he looked better than I had imagined he would.  He is still fighting the infection but slowly and surely he is getting better.  I have found myself praying for him through out the day and thinking about him as he gets older playing with my girls.  All tests that they are giving him are coming in negative, he still has the bacteria in him but it has been 2 days now without a fever and thats very positive.

Please keep praying for little Nate he is a fighter and he needs to stay that way.

New Job! I’m so excited!

with one comment

I accepted an offer today to instruct art to autistic kids.  I think this is a great opportunity for me and I’m seriously thinking of looking into the route of becoming an art therapist.  Something I’ve never thought about but think I may really like.  I’ve always said I wouldn’t become a teacher unless I could be an art teacher, because art is my life.  Here in NY becoming an art teacher is difficult because of cut  backs and they don’t offer it in many of the schools.  But now that I’ve discovered art therapy I think I could really go this route.  Wish me luck Saturday is my first day!!!!

I now know how my parents feel when they look at their children and see how quickly the years have come and gone.

bebeink back on board

leave a comment »

For a little while I had to put bebeink.com on the back burner, the holidays, the kids birthdays and a whole lotta mumbo jumbo just wasn’t giving me the time I needed to start redesigning some new clothes.  This week I will be working on my bleachit line.  Lots of zodiac babies will be coming out this spring 🙂

2 days 4 kids

leave a comment »

My nephew came down with a cold so my sister asked if I could watch him while she and her husband went to work.  I normally watch my 2 girls and my niece.  These 2 days haven’t been too bad.  Its nice for Paige to have a playmate, since she isn’t in school its a really nice change for her, she will be attending preschool in February, thank goodness.  I feel she is missing out on so much, especially since she h as been in school since she was 8 months old.  Preschool is just so expensive and now that I am home we just can’t afford to send her.  Well getting back to these 2 extra busy days, in the early AM they watch a little TV, eat breakfast, then we try to do a puzzle without an argument.  Once we finish that they play with playdough and then color. Next we will get ready for lunch, have free play time and hopefully by that point they are wiped out and its almost time for mommy and daddy to be home 🙂  It’s much easier keeping my 1 year old busy, she plays very well by herself, and my niece who is 5 months old, well we all know a 5month old doesn’t really need to do much except for move from bouncy chair, to bouncy chair.  Well, although I enjoy this time, I can’t wait to get back to work next September.

Holidays, Birthdays, and more

leave a comment »

The months November to January are quite busy in our family.  First starts Thanksgiving, than my nephews birthday, then Christmas, sister’s birthday, brother-in-law’s brithday, New Years Day,  Paige’s birthday, and soon my new niece will be here so lets just tack on another birthday! Soooo with all these birthday’s back to back how does one pay the bills, and have enough mula to get presents and actually be fair!  Its so hard having birthday’s so close to the Holiday.  You hate to skimp out on birthday presents because you’ve gone absolutely insane buying all the Christmas presents.  So this year what I’ve decided is that I will buy presents for these people in months that I do not have any birthday’ s so that when the time does come I don’t feel completely overwhelmed. Whewwww… easy enough right?

The holiday comes to an end

leave a comment »

The holiday has come to an end, we took a little break. We went to see Christmas Spectacular on Friday and Paige LOVED it. See danced the entire time 🙂 it made me so happy to see her smiling and eyes glowing. I remember when my mom used to take me, every year we would take in the train and spend the day in Manhattan, just the two of us. I started to tear up thinking about it. Mom stayed home with Rylan, but next year we will all go together. Paige’s brithday is in a few days, she will be 4 years old. Time has come and gone so quickly and I just don’t know what I will do when the are grown. Well let’s forget that now and enjoy these cute little munchkins.

Feeling a bit retro?

with one comment

My sister sent me this link the other day, feeling retro, and I have to tell you it brought back some great memories.  Just looking at the packaging of all the old toys made me laugh.  Check it out and see what you can remember.
